Become a Waypoint Woods Advisory Committee Member

WAYPOINT WOODS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Bainbridge Island Parks Foundation and Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park & Recreation District seek new committee members for the Friends of Waypoint Woods Advisory Committee. We invite you to apply to be a Committee member. Consider the following criteria:

1. You have an interest in making Waypoint Woods welcoming to visitors and a more ecologically
health and bio-diverse open space in Winslow;

2. You wish to be an effective advocate and ambassador for Waypoint Woods;

3. You wish to work cooperatively with the public, other committee members and Park District
and Parks Foundation staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of Committee Members:

A. Advise and assist the Parks Foundation Liaison and District Liaison in

1. Planning site improvements and ongoing restoration activities for Waypoint Woods

2. Participating in developing annual budgets and Statement of Work as required by the
Friends of Waypoint Woods Project Agreement between the District and Foundation

3. Identifying potential contract service providers for activities approved in the Statement
of Work

4. Planning volunteer engagement opportunities that support annual Statements of Work

5. Identifying and soliciting potential funding sources for implementation of the Statement
of Work.

6. Marketing and community outreach in support of the Preserve.

B. Advocate for Waypoint Woods

1. Advocate for the needs of community park users and encourage public support

2. Advocate for the responsible use of the park
